So, most of you know that Romance (even Romantic Suspense/Action) isn't really my go-to or favorite genre, but I have been reading (and enjoying) them more lately, just on a highly picky and selective basis.

As such, I recently learned of this one, and it has several of the things and themes I've been enjoying lately, plus I was excited to try out a new author! I actually really enjoyed his one, and loved these characters! I haven't read the previous book, featuring Gunner's brother, yet, but these work beautifully as stand alones as well, and had no trouble reading this one! (I did read A Rebel's Heart just before reading this, but likewise isn't needed to read the other books)

I enjoyed this story, but my favorite part might just be seeing Gunner and Julie both overcome their shared past, and seeing them forced to think ahead and made better decisions for their future if this adventure is to ever have a chance! I loved getting to see both their thoughts on their struggles, and seeing how the eventually adjusted and responded in a way that truly showed them working together as a team.

I also really loved Sunny, she's both a fun sister character and a great friend, and between her and Saylor I can't choose a favorite! Both were a blast to meet and definitely kept things interesting with their polar opposite natures and personalities! One thing I hope to see in future books is Tiikaan's story! He only appeared briefly in this one, but it's clear he has a story of his own to tell, so while I'm eager to read more about Sunny, I'm hoping he gets his chance to tell his own story at some point as well!
