I was hooked at the jump by the intricate characterization and the indie creator plot. I think the hype surrounding the book made me too aware of its overall tone, so by the middle I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop and reading in short spurts not wanting to pick back up. Overall it’s the kind of fiction that so closely mirrors reality it isn’t totally satisfying, but it is beautiful.
