Wilde Child by Eloisa James

2.0

If you had to ask me, My Last Duchess and Wilde In Love are the only saving grace of the Wildes. Eloisa James seemed unrestrained in writing the whirlwind romance of Ophelia & the Duke, hilariously poking fun at the uptight nobles. I don't see that anymore. Nor do I discern any substance in the plot. Where even is the plot?

Can't fault Betsy or Viola for rejecting Thaddeus - he's so *excuse me while I yawn, unappealing, for the lack of better words. Joan makes sure to drill into our minds that nobody likes her - guess I'm nobody then. Her whole personality is built on the “I am not like other girls” and “Nobody likes me”.

Not to mention the non existent chemistry between the two. Heck, even Otis seemed to pair much better with Joan than Thaddeus ever did.
