This book started slow, but quickly had me hooked. The writing and the alternating timelines had me suckered. The storyline is the first that didn’t seem too trope-y, overplayed, or boring. There were twists and pivots beautifully woven into the story, and honest to goodness, the writing and layering and craftiness are just solid. The tension is what I love in a book and OH MY there’s just so much, in all the best possible ways. Absolutely must read.
