The Trouble with Peace by Joe Abercrombie

4.0

This didn't go how I expected and exactly how I expected lol.

It still feels like high school but high school in hell. I think being a GenZ and being the 2nd generation since my grandparents fought for Kenya's freedom...this hits different. Their stories are we hid in caves, made guns from scratch, and fought for our lives. My story is ✨I contemplate unalivement if my code doesn't work because of a comma✨ Not seriously but you get what I mean.

Logen, Glokta, and Jezel's stories are the same as my grandparents. I'm the same as Savine, Orso, and Stour, privileged enough to be ambitious. They fought because they had to, we fight because we want to. We being the youngins I relate with the most so Savine, Stour.

In this book, people proved their quality or stupidity...
SpoilerHonestly the best man won. Leo is arrogant, young, and naive...in other words, our boy is dumb. I'd move to the North if he became king.
I think Orso's growth has been so good to witness and I'm rooting for him. Even tho I think the world of Savine...she's acting like her 22/23? year old husband and that's where you go ✨wrong✨

Knowing how Joe treats his characters, I'm scared to read The Wisdom of Crowds.
SpoilerHe killed my husband once, yes I know Logen isn't dead yet but let me be dramatic.
