A dark academia murder mystery that has you questioning nearly every character.
I didn't always agree with what our main character, Mariana, did or said but I enjoyed her journey of trying to figure out the murders. Determination stems from wanting to protect her niece, Zoe. Still grieving over the loss of Mariana's husband, both her and Zoe find it difficult to find solid footing.
With all her suspicions thrown on a professor, Edward Fosca, Mariana goes about collecting anything and everything she can about him, and why he has special interests in certain female students he calls The Maidens.
With surprising twists revealed throughout, just as you think you have it figured out, something new develops and you are left questioning all over again. Great twisted end!
