The rating does not reflect my enjoyment of the book. I read to distract and remove myself from the injustices in the world, and this was so realistic it became a book that I dreaded reading as opposed to enjoying. The writing is wonderful, and the story emotional and visceral. But I’m left depleted after reading this book.
