This gave me trouble. I really loved the first few books West brought out, but I couldn't find it in me to care about this story no matter how hard I tried.

Issues included not seeing the appeal of the love interest and disagreeing fundamentally with how the protagonist went about things. Mostly, the parts of this book that concerned itself with mental health felt disingenuous and insincere, especially in a group of young people today. I couldn't see it being real at all.

I also didn't like how about halfway through, the book just did a 180 and started telling me that the potential secondary love interest wasn't right, instead of showing me. Especially when flashbacks before this point had actually made me like the pairing? I much preferred the person she didn't choose and I felt that problems with her friends were mostly because of some weird hang up she had to not treat them like genuine friends?

Also, first half was painfully boring. Like, a problem, boring. Also why trap two kids in a library and not involve the books? Seems like an awful waste!
