Kingdom of the Feared by Kerri Maniscalco

4.25

Finally read the last edition in this series!! This book was full of big reveals and lots of spicy scenes. I prefer reading about the chase, so this book was not my favorite of the three. I also felt confused often between
Emilia secretly being a goddess? Normally magic isn’t hard for me to wrap my head around but I can’t grasp that the first book and her memories of her life as a witch were lies. I also found Vittoria confusing as a character and could not figure out her motives and whether she was evil or not.
So much happened in this book that I felt like it lost the plot about halfway through. I may need to reread to understand it better but it started to feel like things were just happening to give Emilia something to do. While reading, it seemed like the ending was prolonged, although I did enjoy reading about the two ceremonies. I mostly just miss the passion that came from the first two books where they didn’t completely trust each other. Them always calling each other “husband”, “wife”, “my love”, and Emilia suddenly thinking he was the greatest gift to mankind. I missed the tension!! I wanted Wrath pushing her to be her worst and Emilia drooling over his darkness. They seemed much too nice by the end, not like the
King and Queen of Hell itself.
Anyways, I enjoyed this series! Before reading this last edition, I had no interest in the other Sins’ stories, but I would potentially be interested in reading them now. I would love to see more of Emilia and Wrath being the fearsome couple I know that they are.
