The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
4.0
I really enjoyed returning to this universe. The prose is a little less poetic and keenly insightful than Handmaid. The “discovered manuscript” format was at times tiresome, and made it hard for me to immerse myself in the world. I wanted to love the main characters more than I did.
However, it was fun, the plot moved well, and the characters felt believable. I would have enjoyed it more, even, if it focused less on the children and more on Aunt Lydia’s machinations. Her character was the most interesting and dimensional.
