Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

4.0

There's so much to unpack here about what it means to be human, and what drives our emotions and behaviors. Atmospheric as all getout, but simple and straightforward enough in its dialogue and development that I think I missed a lot of the true sinister nature of the world behind the story. Or maybe I'm numb to it at this point because of what we witness in everyday life. This is the kind of story that needs at least two reads, but probably more like six, to catch everything there is to catch.
