Fantastic Mr. Fox
by Roald Dahl
I really enjoyed reading this at bedtime to my son. I was able to appreciate this time around, more than any so far, clever little things Roald Dahl does in his writing, like his rhythmic variation in sentence lengths, ingeniously referenced in his story "The Great Automatic Grammatizator", as well as those little cheerful chocolate chip chunks of alliteration he scatters around like unexpected treasures in the landscape.
Also, what an advert for cider! I was craving a pint of delicious golden real cider after my son's bedtime!
