The author was able to capture the true nature of fairytales. That being said the true nature of fairytales are dark with morally ambigous characters. At times the book was hard to listen to because the main male character was agressive and the boundaries of consent were a little murky. However, I felt like the darkness and morally gray characters attributes fit in the world of fairytales.
