This is honestly my ideal science fiction book. Characters that I actually care about, a setting that feels completely 100% real, and a really solid plot. There are some deep thoughts(TM) about the universe, but there’re also zombies in space. Normally I don’t like sequels but I want to read the second book so bad. 

EDIT since Storygraph doesn't let you do multiple reviews??: It's so lovely to read a science fiction book that's as effortlessly confident as this one. The author(s) know exactly what they're doing and exactly how to do it, and deliver a super fun and tense book in the process.
