This series has been my favorite since childhood, and I have probably read all three dozens of times (if not more than that) I always enjoy coming back to this tale of a young girl who doesn't fit in her community, but escapes and lives on her own, finding her own community in a group of fire lizards she "impresses" - when she is eventually rescued, she starts to find out that she is not as useless as she felt in her hold, and becomes who she is meant to be.
