Do yourself a favor and listen to the audio version of this because I was so surprised that Brandi sings at the ending of the chapters plus that there's an additional chapter of her singing a few songs acoustically that were just fantastic to listen to!
I knew a bit of Brandi from what I've heard her mention but none of that could have prepared me for her honesty and heart-warming truth as she narrates her "memoir-ish" book as she puts it. She gave a lot of truths of herself, her life, her family, both born into and found, and her music that I'm much more in love with her as a person than I am of her music.
There is a lot of self-reflection about herself and the music and I could her her smile at certain moments in some chapters especially as she mentions her friendships, famous and familial, that just made me smile too. She has such a great warmth in her tone that I was easily pulled in to listen to and I can fangirl about this for a while.
