The Afterlife of Alyx & Israel by Hanna Peach, Romac Designs
4.0

4.5 'Afterlife' Stars

Just because it doesn't last forever,it doesn't mean it wasn't worth it.

This book completely blew me away.Into small pieces which I am trying to piece back together. So if I sound incoherent in my review, ignore it.

After reading Angeldust, book 5 in the Dark Angel series,I was dying to read to read this one.I might have stalked Hanna Peach a little to know when I could see Alyx and Israel together again. And let me tell you the wait was worth it.

Afterlife starts twenty five years later as we see both Alyx and Israael leading their separate lives in Saint Joseph. They don't remember anything about each other and their past. They have never met each other in this life.Yet.
So some old characters, who we missed so much, decide to nudge fate to get them to meet again leading to some deadly consequences.

After so many years later,we see Alyx as a mortal together with someone who is not Israel (gasp!).The characters were so much different from the series.I think this actually was a point in favor of this book. You see them so differently here,it's refreshing.

Israel was swoon-worthy and witty.I didn't realize how much I missed him until I saw him again. You can probably see the fireworks when they meet for the first time, each struggling to place the familiarity they seem to have with one another.
These two are my favorite couple, seriously.Throughout the book, their scenes light up the pages leaving you with a giddy feeling.Even when they were fighting with each other, you can see their love.

"If you spout one more half-veiled cheer,I will come over there and chop your tongue out."
"At the rate you're going you couldn't chop a tree trunk if it stood in front of you," he teased.

"Can I ask you something... personal?"
Israel glanced over at Alyx and grinned."Yes,I'm single."
She rolled her eyes."That's not what I was about to ask you."
"But it's good to know anyway, right?"

Vix and Balthazar were my favorite in this one. These two cracked me up every time they were together.

"And you think you'd be any help?" she scoffed.
"I am the Master of Disaster. The Schemin' Demon.I have a Ph.D. in diabology."

I even liked Jordan in this one.How he helped them in some way or the other.

And that EPILOGUE! It was amazing.Exactly how I imagined and so much more.Afterlife is definitely going to my favorites shelf.

"I love you.In this life and the last."
"And for whatever comes next."

Now I have to wait for Lukas and Siana's story! (Getting ready for some more stalking :) )
