I listened to the audio while following along in my physical copy ...

I truly enjoyed this dark, gothic retelling! This is my second book by the author ... and I was not disappointed at all!

The way the author was able to catch my attention from the first page and kept it all the way until the last. This book was fairly long, and I was kind of nervous throughout thinking that I was going to lose interest.

But no ...

I was invested!

I just loved Hazel's selfless acts ... considering she had a challenging upbringing and was somehow always given the shitty end of the stick. Hazel did not let anything change who she was as a person ... and I loved that so much.

I also loved that she was able to make such an impact on Leopold ✨️ They say you can not change a person, but the fact that her words made a positive impact in his life was 🤌🏽

I also could not get enough of them together! And am glad that they both got what they wanted ... a chance at happiness.

I am so excited to have finished this before the year was over 👏🏽
