Save Me by Mona Kasten

3.0

If they start season 2 the way they ended this book I may actually end things, I'm going to end it all. Because that was crazy & insane.

I put together a List of things that were different from show to book:
Changes from Book to Show
- Ruby wasn't the direct cause of her father's paralysis
- She isn't saving money for her father's new stair lift
- Ruby doesn't ask for the recommendation letter back from Mr. Sutton
- She doesn't ask for a recommendation letter from Lexie
- They don't attempt to make a dress originally that gets burnt and forces her to ask James
- The mother is a lot more diplomatic and tends to agree with the dad more, making her death (IN MY OPINION) less heartbreaking than the show.
- There seems to be no setting up of James and Elaine
- James is seen doodling once and apparently did not draw Ruby (lowk my favorite part of the show)
- When they're trying on the outfits at the Beaufort store her father doesn't insult her and she still rides with Percy; she doesn't take the bus
- I think the Lydia is a lot nicer a lot faster than in the show I remember her being a bitch for longer (for good reason)
- Ruby doesn't have the panic attack in the Oxford class
- Ruby doesn't seem to have any anxiety that I can think of in the book which I feel like is a great addition in the show
- I don't think that's how James acted in the show during their third act breakup..........I really need to rewatch
- THE TEACHER AND LYDIA MET ON TUMBLR???
- James' dad does not threaten her at all an is less involved in the book
- THE BOOK ENDS WITH JAMES CHEATING ON RUBY?????????????????? WHAT!

I'm not saying all these changes are better, though I am heavily implying that. I think that the book was SO 2014 that it was a literal shock to me that it came out in 2018, which is just 2016 but meaner. I can't believe someone would write a book about how great Oxford is in 2018 with the moves that british people were making on Tumblr in 2014.

I think that book ruby could do better than book James, like show James--he's much better. ALSO! PREGNANCY TROPEEEEEE. I've said it once and I'll say it a thousand times more...kill that thing patrick.

OVERALL, I think that this book was just the right amount of trashy that I needed
