I heard about this book from the author, 33 years after it was published, at Passover in the Desert. I was in the “Queer Magic Haven,” a tent for queer Jews at the festival to come together and connect, or rest, or whatever else we needed. My introduction to Judaism has been one where queer people are accepted, are leaders in the community. It was interesting to read this book about how we got here. I enjoy essay collections, I think, and I especially enjoyed the essays in this book that were more narrative and personal. I have recently been feeling very blessed to be bisexual, and blessed to be a sexual being, and I enjoyed reading about how others share that feeling.
