I really hoped I would have enjoyed this book more than I actually did. I thought that Idgey and Ruth’s romance would have been something more, as well as the friendship of Evelyn and Ninny. Also it had to be said that this book has not aged well and many of the “progressive” thoughts are actually not progressive and just not as racist as everyone else. Overall the book was three stars but lost one for how poorly it has aged
