Nina, Jay, Hud, and Kit are siblings who grew up and live in Malibu. The book takes place over one day, where they are planning and hosting a party. But the book flashes back over their childhood, their famous father abandoning them, and the intricacies of them growing up and becoming adults. This book really dealt with grief and the anxiety and trauma we hold in our body really well. It was also very empathetic to all the characters, which I always like in a fiction.
