this book is fucked up but it was also beautiful. my favorite thing about this book was when Atlan and Rin finally started to understand each other. the reader got the sense that they finally know each other and that rin understands the person that Atlan is but it also makes it so the reader still doesn't know much about Atlan and that fact is really cool to me. the bloody and detailed massacres weren't great and made me a little uncomfortable but after that, the book always gets better. I BOTH LOVE AND HATE HOW ATLAN DIED! sacrificing himself for the greater good or whatever was great and I can't be mad at him but the fact that they just wrote his death as walking into a troop of federation soldiers was ANNOYING! it's stated that he does die but like WTH!
