The Best of H.P Lovecraft by H.P. Lovecraft

4.0

The style of writing and some content (racism, sexism) has not not aged well. The description of surroundings and objects was entirely too long for my taste - I found myself nodding off at some points.

However, the basic ideas and concepts, and the entire world that this author created, is astounding. It is so in depth, fantastical and unique, unlike anything I've ever read before.

Lovecraft is also very good at telling a solid horror story. He foreshadows and tells the timeline of events in such a way that the end is always a jolt or shock.

I can see why so many authors were inspired by his work.
