pinfeathered 's review for:
Pandemonium
by Lauren Oliver
I went through the majority of this book actually quite enjoying it. I actually liked the alternating chapters. I liked reading about Lena change and grow as a person. I liked the glimpses into another city besides Portland. I liked learning more about the Invalids and the Rebellion. But then...
The ending.
Like, seriously, you're going to bring back Alex? Right at the point when Lena acknowledges that she has feelings for Julian?
There's a beautiful story that could have been told here about moving on after loss, and (as cheesy as it sounds) about learning to love again. But that's all gone to shit now, hasn't it? And the fact that Alex is miraculously alive kind of cheapens the ending of Delirium.
I can see that the last book in this trilogy is going to be absolutely chock full of love triangle BS and I'm... not... looking forward to it.
