The Prophets Gambit by Ellie Evaris
2.0
A somewhat interesting urban fantasy but the exceution fell short. The characters didn't gel well with me. They felt underdeveloped and not fleshed out like Alek for example, who I liked the most.
They felt devoid of character and lacked any substance, especially Aris and Lochlen. This is probably why the romance didn't work for me either which is a shame.
I continued on for the plot though which was at least somewhat enjoyable, if not vague with dream sequences. This made the overall story confusing and I was expecting more. The cliffhanger was expected but I still liked reading it play out.
Thank you to Netgalley and Hidden Grove Books for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
