Two reasons I couldn't rate this higher: 1. I can generally suspend disbelief for a novel if it makes sense to, and I just couldn't with this one 2. So many characters, plot points, and settings just felt ripped from other books in the domestic thriller genre and jumbled together in a way that it became entirely forgettable.
