This is an interesting gothic mystery set in a spooky old house in the middle of the Yorkshire Moors. The writing is great but if you want a fast paced read this isn't for you as the story unfolds gradually but it did lure me in and kept my attention throughout. If you enjoy a good ghost story then this has everything. There are creepy stuffed animals, seances, mysterious messages which material ze from nowhere, and the black feathers which suddenly appear. There are several twists and although I guessed some, others totally blindsided me. I listened to this on a glorious sunny day but it would be perfect for a cold, gloomy winter's day. Rebecca Netley does gothic so well and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
I really enjoyed the narration by Genevieve Gaunt.
