The Picture of Dorian Gray
by Oscar Wilde
3.5 stars*
I finally get the hype! Sort of. While it is beautifully written, I could've done without some passages, and Chapter 11 completely. The opening chapters were really intriguing. I loved the dynamic and banter between Dorian, Basil, and Henry. The storyline with Sibyl seems so unhinged in our modern world, but I loved it more for that. And even though he entered late in the story, I loved Alan Campbell's character. The dialogue between Dorian and random side characters did get a bit tedious and boring for me, though.
