Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami

5.0

Haruki - I think you either love him or hate him. I was hooked the day I read my first Murakami (The Wind Up Bird Chronicle) and I’ve probably read everything he’s written. This is a mellow and very romantic book. I felt as if I had moved into the house on the the hill alongside the main character. The writing has a repetitive quality that is almost hypnotic although there are also moments of magnificently portrayed tension. Don’t read it if you want action. But, yes, if you want to slip into that elusive crevice where belief is suspended and anything might happen.
