Wind Gap, its people, and its secrets are truly disturbing.
A little slow to start, this book quickly had me hooked. You will undoubtedly feel uncomfortable reading this. The descriptions are genuinely horrific and bone-chilling. Quite simply, the characters are fucked up; everyone has a darkness to them which contributes to the mystery of who is guilty. The women are wildly damaged, and their relationships are riddled with resentment, distrust, and hatred. The mother-daughter dynamic is twisted into something much more sinister and scary. Although not entirely surprising, the ending is super eerie, and the twists along the way kept things interesting.
I am excited to read more from Gillian Flynn!
