Sunstone, Vol. 1 by Stjepan Šejić
4.0

How do I even explain why I picked this one up?

I guess I'm just going to blame it on my co-worker and dear friend Myra, who was the one who recommended and borrowed me this. And let me just say that for a comic about BDSM this was surprisingly wholesome and sweet.

'Sunstone' is, in short, about two women with similar sexual desires who meet, begin a both sexual and friendly relationship, and then gradually fall in love. It's about sexual liberation and trust, about coming to accept and be proud of who you are, and what you like. If someone wants to dive into or just read about BDSM, I would say that this is a good representation - nothing like the abusive shitstorm that is [b:Fifty Shades of Grey|10818853|Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1)|E.L. Sejics art was beautiful as always, and the story flowed on nicely. I like many of his comics, although I would really have appreciated seeing some diversity in the bodies we were shown here. Other than that, it is a LGBTQIA+ couple so we do get some good representation there.

My friend also borrowed me the second installment in this series, so I will definitely continue reading this. And let's be honest, it's both for the hotness and the fluffiness.
