nelsta 's review for:
The Godfather
by Mario Puzo
I was warned and I didn’t heed it. The Godfather is spectacular, but it’s portrayal of women was too much for me. The Godfather suffers from the same problem as George R.R. Martin’s books: all the women are hypersexualized. It’s too bad, because I absolutely loved the book until each jarring aside taken by Mr. Puzo to describe the breasts of a woman or the lustful tryst between two other characters. It’s excessive; unnecessary.
I regret having to put this masterpiece down, but it just wasn’t fun to read.
