Mystery is generally not my genre but I'm a sucker for alternate history and robots, so I went for it and picked this up. Colt Coltrane has an authentic hardboiled voice which makes you feel as though you were about to catch a double feature with your pal for a quarter. Yet it's modern and thrilling enough to make it feel vintage instead of cheesy.
