Why I'm sending this to you by Iain S. Thomas, Jon Ellis

3.0

I tend to enjoy Iain Thomas' work more when it is a longer book, as I really enjoyed both 'I Wrote This for You' and 'Every Word You Cannot Say' (both are on my shelf, in fact).
This one was nice, but it didn't pack the connective punch that the longer ones do.
It made me a little mournful, as it is written (as most of his books are) for you. To reach you in all of the ways that a friend would reach you. To let you know how important you are and how much you matter. And that's a beautiful mission that I absolutely adore.
But this made me long for close connections. People who would actually say these things to me, validate me and exist with me. Instead of filling something, I feel like it made me realize something was missing. Beautiful though it was, I left it with less than I had to begin with.
