I really enjoyed this read! The world building is very interesting and I can't wait to read what happens next. The writing style took a bit to get used to as Roberts likes to repeat words. And she'll rephrase the same sentiments multiple times, say it again in a slightly different way, repeat herself often to drive the point home.  See what I did there? Get used to it! 

The magic system is very intriguing, although I still have questions, which I hope will be explored in the next book. There are definitely themes or even pet names that will remind you of other popular books, especially Hunger Games, Goblet of Fire, and even ACOTAR. 

I look forward to seeing where Kitt, Kai, and Paedyn's character arcs are leading.
