The Lost City of the Monkey God
by Douglas Preston
Pretty fun and decent read. This is the true story of a group of people who delve deep into the Honduran jungle in search of previously "undiscovered" ruins. There are definitely tangents, but fortunately most of them are pretty interesting.
There are chapters on the history of Honduras, the history of archaeology (briefly, and focusing on Central America), and the dangers of the unexplored jungles of Central America.
Overall pretty interesting, especially if you are interested in "lost civilizations", archaeology and anthropology, or the workings of Honduras.
