Did not finish book.
I wanted to give this series a try with "The Darkest Star" soon to be released. Not too far into this, I began to get a Twilight vibe ((With the "mysterious" neighbor (Obsidian) vs. "mysterious" classmate (Twilight) hating then saving then falling for the main character. I don't care for the guy either...he's a total butt)) some chapters in. I cannot possible see how there is even a romantic connection when he's verbally abusive.
In my early high school years I might have been ALL over this series along with Twilight, which I enjoyed. The story is ok, so idk if I might pick it back up. I feel like right now, this book will have to sit at the bottom of my TBR pile until I get books I've been anxiously waiting to read marked off first.
