Addicted to Ellis D by S.E. Harmon

This was an absolutely beautiful story or strength and resilience.

Ellis was truly given a bad hand in life. He had no one, he been thru the foster care system, homeless a few times and depended on sex work just to feed himself. But he never gave up. He never quit. He was a hard worker and while life kept throwing him grenades, he never complained. He just kept moving.

Luca found himself running a family business he had no passion for and responsible for severe debt incurred by his deceased father. He felt trapped and isolated. He was also going thru a divorce. He had no room for a relationship, or even romance.

While this book had minimal spice, it was packed full of emotion. The MCs were both dealing with so much and not looking for anything but they couldn’t stay away from each other. They found such comfort in just being around the other. They felt seen and valued. They were so wonderful together!!

I will say that the bit with the loan shark should’ve been more complicated or wrapped up in some way. I also think Lucas divorce with Colin wasn’t adequately explored or resolved.
