Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab

4.0

I really wanted to love this, but there's something about vampire stories that I just can not enjoy. I thought maybe this one would change my mind, but no, vampires are not for me.

The writing was exquisite, though. Despite the vampires, the story was powerful and timely. I thought the storylines came together well, and the ending was good (not rushed). It did have an Addie LaRue feel. I will have to pick up some more stories by this author.
