Better When He's Brave: A Welcome to the Point Novel
by Jay Crownover
Another good installment to the series. In this one, Reeve has returned from her witness protection, after Race and Dovey's father was killed while in witness protection. Reeve knows who did it, and she's brought proof. But by doing this, she's brought the wrath of the guy responsible down on her, too. She figured out that this guy wanted to bring The Point down, and even though Reeve hated her life in The Point and what it made her become, she didn't feel like everyone else should have to suffer. It turns out the dude had a hard-on for the people involved in Novak's death, and he's wreaking havoc with them wherever he can. And he's damn smart. I guess he should be since he was trained to be on the right side of the law. The story starts out literally with a bang, but it ended up not being the bang I expected. Or rather, the one pulling the trigger was different. Still, between the beginning and what looked like the end, it was sweet to see Titus and Reeve grow closer and start to trust each other.
The next one will be about the club owner and the stripper, which should be interesting. But it'll partially be interesting since they'll have to go in a different direction. Still, I'm hoping enough literary time can pass between this one and the next one that the one after that will be Booker and Carsen. She's still too young at this point, but I can see that one coming from a mile away, and it'll be great.
