DID NOT FINISH

look let's be real i ain't got time for things i don't feel like reading and this was a mistake to even begin with, but it has been on my tbr for years, even before i started reading in english and paranormal was still trending.
>this was more fun and less annoying than most ya written around that time, it didn't have all those cliches, and it was more real, as in alcohol, wild partying(even on mondays? weird flex, but you do you)
>the mc isn't your typical bland, quiet heroine and she actually tries to go for her popular crush.
>at the same time she is kind of annoying and for some reason can't deal with her hormons and already gets involved with like two guys, and thinks about her best friend, who is dating her other best friend.
>it's more teen melodrama than actual plot. during the 30% i read, there were like two smaller instances regarding the upcoming fantasy element(starting with chloe surviving a 200 feet long fall), and something about girls ending up dead.
>but other than that, it focused on chloe looking at sea lions with her bland russian crush and her best friends.
>why do we need a "uh my best friends hooked up" plotline, idgaf.
>her russian crush is also boring.
>i don't think the book takes itself seriously, but it's kind of corny and cheesy. it gave me buffy the vampire slayer vibes, but with much more cringe humor and dialogues than that show.
overall even though this is short as fuck, it was just not a book that could hold my interest for long, and i decided that reading it would change nothing just take up time from reading stuff i might be more interested in. it wasn't that bad, and if i read it in physical format, i'd have finished it for sure(especially because it's like 250 pages). maybe at some point in the future, when i need something cheesy.
