I am so thankful to Tantor Audio and NetGalley for this ALC. The narrators in this book were absolutely amazing. And I wanted to say that I like the book which I did, but I had some issues with it that just were too distracting to be fully immersed in the book.
The biggest issue that I had is with the MMC. If you’re going to create a book that’s around or centered around an MMC that has lore already behind them, then maybe you should stick to some of the lore… but creating a completely new character based on the name alone just was a little offputting and hard for me to get past. If it had been any other MMC, this book would have been FANTASTIC… it was just a little hard for me to get beyond what I know about Asmodeus. Also, the pop culture references of twerking, praying to the porcelain God, etc. just didn’t fit into fantasy.
But because I’m a girl who wants to find out how something finishes I will indeed pick up the next book.
