Elisapee and Her Baby Seagull by Nancy Mike

5.0

I was first sold on this because I'm a big fan of the Jerry Cans, the band that Nancy Mike throat sings in. Seeing the cover and story premise definitely sold me the rest of the way. Actually reading it was certainly not a let down, and exceeded all my expectations.

Charlene Chua did a fantastic job with the illustrations, which are vibrant, bold, and truly bring the story to life. Nancy Mike did an incredible job with the story itself. This is a wonderful book to teach kids about respecting animals, taking care of animals, and ultimately, letting go of animals when they need to leave. It's also just an incredibly sweet and enjoyable tale.

I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good picture book. I hope Nancy Mike puts out another story, because I will be all over it. I'm already trying to check out other picture books illustrated by Charlene Chua from my local library.
