The Amityville Horror book is 100 times more frightening than the movie. I was probably 8 the last time I watched the movie and all I really remember was the dad screaming with an axe in his hand. I don't remember being scared, and I was actually surprised how spooky this book reads. So so so good. If you haven't read this and you like horror and haunted house books this is the one!
