"It Starts With Us" was a good follow-up to "It Ends With Us"!
This time, Ryle felt like a true side character, which I thought was exactly where he belonged. However, I found it a bit too convenient how easily he accepted the terms of his intervention. A deeper legal explanation, maybe with Lily getting help from Alyssa’s personal lawyer, would have made it more believable. I loved how Alyssa and Marshall firmly support Lily, even though Ryle is Alyssa’s brother and Marshall’s best friend. They are the ultimate “squad goals,” the kind of friends who stand by you through every obstacle in life.
The dual perspectives of Lily and Atlas were a great touch. I was thrilled to read Atlas' thought, especially when he narrated his letters (and that beautiful vow!) to Lily. Their love and patience for each other truly shine through, and his vow brought me to tears—it was so genuine and moving.
Overall, this book was a good read, and I enjoyed it more than the first!.
