I really liked the occasional body horror popping up, but I am just not a contemporary mystery fan. Since most of the book focused on that, I got a bit bored. Reading about interesting facts about true crime, the Marie Antoinette syndrom, the artists Rubens and Pollock, or poison dart frogs (one of my favourite animals) helped me get through these parts. However, the last 70 pages had a nice fantastical twist. I just wish it had happened way sooner. Although the writing style and the characters feel very ya and almost everything is very predictable, there is at least no focus on some romantic sideplot.
