The Brown Plague: Travels in Late Weimar and Early Nazi Germany by Daniel Guérin

4.0

This contemporary journalism by a Frenchman traveling in Germany just before and then just after Hitler's rise to power is worth reading to people curious about the early days of the Nazis. Guerin is of course incapable of imagining later developments. In the book he remains hopeful. He would later serve in the resistance in France.
