Lukas by Carian Cole
4.0

""I feel like I've already loved you, and now my heart's just waking up, remembering how."

How 'bout that hero, eh?
I really liked Lukas in the previous books. He felt a little "off" in this one, but not in a bad way, just different than I had originally perceived him, but still, what a sweet heart he has.
"He is dark and light, and angel fallen and lost, sinfully sweet, dirty and damaged from the descent. I want him on me, in me, beside me. I want to breathe him into me and never exhale. I am completely corrupted by him."

Age is just a number.
I wasn't sure I was gonna be all about the whole "cougar" thing because that doesn't really do much for me, but it was really a non-issue for me here. If Ivy had continued to whine and carry on about it and drag it out it would have been super-annoying, but she finally got over it (pretty much) so I was able to move forward.

Saw it comin', still pissed me off....
As for the whole
Spoiler"daughter incident"
, I saw it comin'. I knew within the first 5% of the book that we were gonna go there, but even still, once we got there, I was pissed. I felt bad for Lukas, even though I understood Ivy's pov. I was pissed. So then, I was like, 'Eff this stupid ass book. That's it! Losin' a star! *insert angry face*", which may or may not be fair, but I'm invoking Article 6793 which is as follows: My review, my right. *shrugs*

In the end...
Although CC concludes the stories as they are, I can't help but feel like each one of these books has ended with just enough of a tease that there might be a full blown saga to follow up each of these. Some of this shit that comes out in the ends of these books is too much to just leave... I don't know... it's weird.

4 Stars
... because, let's be honest, I read the shit out of it. I liked it. And at some point I'll probably reread it.
