I was excited to read this when I saw that it would be from Alice's perspective and I figured the book would take place while she was in the dark. I was right about that bit but only about 10% of it is about her in the dark. The rest is flashbacks within flashbacks. While I did enjoy getting to know Alice's back story I just wasn't happy with the way it was put together if that makes any sense.
